Conseguir que una estructura así se mueva de forma completamente autónoma ya es un reto. B)

Espectacular el tamaño :O y seguro que tanto NXT serán para algo más.
Creo que es la punta del iceberg, habrá que esperar a que termine. Lo titula 'Rover-under-contruction-for-Legoworld-2010' (en construcción)

En la descripción del video dice que tiene un patrocinador.

No me gusta el Mindstomrs ni suelo mirar/postear este foro, pero comentar que tanto el tamaño del bicho, la cantidad de elementos electronicos y esas PEDAZO ORUGAS me han impulsado a escrbir aquí.

let me try to provide some clarifications about this tremendous project. :O

This is an autonomous Rover that is being built to run at this year's LEGOWORLD next October in Zwolle (NL).
It is a project from Eric Steenstra who has been involved in other very large projects with MIDSTORMS NXT during the past editions of LW events.

Eric was backtracking the links to his YT video, when he noticed about your discussion here and asked me to provide some info, since I am already registered in this forum.


Now regarding this year's project...
The video is the first driving test, to see if the rover has enough power and if the steering is working fine.
Eric intends to add a big arm on it, with a camera that takes pictures of the crowd at Legoworld next October.
From the schematics attached to this post, you may get a clue on how it works.

The NXT on top (see the images at Brickshelf) moves two arms with different colors in front of color sensors the attached to the other eight NXTs.
All them have 2 XL motors connected.
The four outer NXTs have attached 2 ultrasound sensors that transmit a signal to the inner NXTs, and they transmit it NXT on top. So that the rover stops when the distance to any obstacle is getting too small.
On the controller there is still one motor port free, that will be used to control the NXTs that move the arm and take the pictures. Still to be built.


Now we just need to wait and see how this project evolves till the next LW event. :}
